School Festival

鹿島中学校の文化祭「輝響祭」は、今年４月に来日したSeon先生の目にはどのように映ったのでしょうか？Seon先生に「輝響祭」の感想を寄せていただきましたので、英文を読んでみましょう。

School Festival.
The theme, "To a Hopeful Future" was ideal for the festival as the students, who are very talented and promising, displayed it with the chorus singing, dances and great art work pieces. The festival showed that the school is open to including some cultural practices from the west into their culture and that was shown from some of the prerecorded dances. It would have been great to see Japanese food at the festival but I understand that corona limits everything. I am now more appreciative of the school's cultural practices and traditions. It was a great experience for me and I totally enjoyed it.

「希望ある未来へ」というテーマは、文化祭の、そして生徒達の理想を表すものです。彼らは、才能にあふれ、今後の成長が大いに期待できる生徒達で、合唱やダンスを披露したり、すばらしい芸術作品を展示したりしました。この文化祭から、学校が積極的に自国の文化や慣習に西洋のものを取り入れていることがよく分かります。それは、事前に録画されたダンス（有志発表）などに見られました。文化祭で日本の食べ物に出会うことができたらよかったと思いましたが、コロナによる制限があらゆるものにかけられていることは理解しています。今、私は学校の文化・慣習により親しみを覚えています。私にとって素晴らしい経験であり、大いに楽しみました。
